Question Fuel Mileage Question - for A4 owners w/ a Stall.

I made a highway trip yesterday - cruise & A/C on, reasonable speeds. I had about 20 miles on the tank before we hopped on the freeway - and, once at the destination, I'd guess I put about 12 miles of city driving before getting back on the highway for the return trip.

Car is in the sig - I had the HPP3 power tuning installed (Non-RFG) , was running super (93 ? octane ) , have the tires aired up, and the car has a 2800 stall w/ a Borla.

When I topped it off to check mileage I found it had turned in 19.36 or so - a little disappointing in my book w/ the $'s it takes now for a gallon of gas !

*EDIT* Total miles for this little jaunt were 110.

The car still has the 3.23's in it.

So, now I am wondering how I compare to other stalled A4's.

Thanks !

Britt

I haven't measured but am pretty sure around town dumped 5 or MPG. Now I know highway is the same since it takes about the same amount of gas to travel to a frequent destination. Maybe your TC is not locking up at cruise which is the key to getting highway mpg I have HPP3 and 3400 midwest

Pure highway I can get up to 24 mpg.... that's at 68 or so MPH with an A4 automatic. In the city it goes down to 17mpg... it appears that if you drive constantly below or at 2000 RPM your milage is great for a engine that big...... but.... did you really look for a good gas milae when you bought a 5.7 liter engine car ? I think it's ok compared to the fun it lets you have with it...
