How much oil does your ride consumer per 3k miles?
I just changed my oil yesterday and it didn't seem like the motor consumed any oil.
After making 6 consecutive passes at the track a few weeks ago, I would have thought it might have, but it seemed like it all drained into the pan.

I use about 2.5 to 3 quarts in 5K. LS1's seem to think they are diesels at the rate they like to burn oil.
Mine is a 40K motor that has been run on synthetic for it's whole life (minus break in time).

90K miles on my 98 TA ...
The last 20K have been primarily road course miles.
I will use 1/2 to 3/4 qt in a 20 minute session. The car got hot last summer and oil consumption began.
I will use about 1/2 qt in 2K miles on the street.
I have used Havoline 10W40 for the whole time.

In my LS-1 car, about a qt every 1,500 miles, since new, I drive at higher rpms with light throttle application. Never see smoke, if that is what you're getting at.
I have an LT-1 car also, it doesn't use any oil to speak of.
Apparently some of the LS-1 engines have low tension rings ... and that leads to increased oil consumption.
Hope this helps
