How to install Headers?
I need help installing some headers. This is going to be the first time I try this. Is there a website or something that shows you the steps to removing exhaust manifolds and installing headers? I just bought some Hooker LTs. I will try the install this monday, my day off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced guys. The car is a 2002 Z28.

Re: How to install Headers?
Thanks a lot guys, those links will definetely help me tackle this task. How much do you guys think a muffler shop will charge me to weld my y-pipe and GMMG cat-back?
Re: How to install Headers?
Just to weld it up shouldn't be expensive. I knew a guy at the Midas down the street so mine was $free.99. You definitely don't need a tune to realize gains from what you're doing. You definitely do need a tune to realize the most gains from what you're doing.

You can just call me Abe. And I wish I could give you an accurate answer. But I can't. Search for recent threads from Keliente, I know she had some info on her tune and the results she got. There's a bunch of variables, such as:
1. Cats or no cats?
2. M6 or A4?
3. Depends on mail-order tune vs. dyno tuning.
My best advice here is to search the forums, you'll probably get more info than you need or want.
Really depends on how much money you want to spend. After I installed my LT's, ORY, and TSP Rumbler, my car ran like **** poor ****. I took off the "JetChip" that was on my car when I bought it and replaced my broken *** plug wires, and suddenly it ran a lot better! I knew I wanted a dyno tune, but I live near Next Level Performance & Mike Norris. He's pretty much the man when it comes to LS1's. Cars featured in magazines, TT vettes, etc. I wanted the most for my money I spent on all that exhaust crap, and also got rid of that god-awful CAGS (skip shift).
Point is, you can always drive it around after the install and see how you feel about it. If you're going ORY, you're gonna throw codes. I can't stand having that SES light staring at me, so I got a tune. I have never regretted it.

Re: How to install Headers?
the question ...
"how much hp will i gain from XXXX mod?"
is a touchy one...since ever car is different.
but when i comes to headers and tuning...round numbers are the only way to look at it.
LS1 with stock manifolds....get a dyno or mail-order tune and you'll pick up 10hp
LS1 with LT headers and ORP....you'll pick up 15hp
LS1 with LT headers, ORP and a tune...you'll pick up 30hp
in this case 1+1 doesn't equal 2.
each mod separately gives good yields. however the 2 mods combined will result in more gains than just the sum of each one separate.
Keliente got something like 41hp from LTs and a tune....is this normal...HELL no.
it easily could have been contributed to other mods actually throwing the tune off, hurting power...and the dyno tune just brought out the real power potential of all the mods combined.
