LS2 questions ...

Is the LS2 in the '05 GTO the exact same engine as the C6 (non-ZO6 of course)? Also, is the crank forged and what about the rods and pistons? I've just purchased an '05 GTO and eventually want to add an ATI supercharger and was questioning the strength of the bottom end. I've tried a search and can't seem to come up with anything. Thanks.

Re: LS2 questions ...

You can put a blower on it and make well over 500 rwhp, but it'll be at lower boost levels because of the higher compression ratios of the LS2.

Yes, they put the LS2 into a few different cars, but they are all basically the same.

The LSx cranks are referred to as "nodular iron" right? What's that compared to "cast" or "forged"?

Re: LS2 questions ...

nodular iron = cast. nodular is a type of iron, less brittle than other types of iron, especially gray iron.

steel can be cast or forged when it comes to cranks
