How much is it for the TCI SSF 3500 and what are the typical gains in the 1/4 mile? Where to buy it? Are they hard to install? What about labor costs?

I say get the Vigilante convertor. I think its the best u can get. I got a great deal for my vigelante convertor, from a friend that i have who owns a speed shop. He gave it to me for $400 and he said he will put everything in for $350. Right now its getting a 3800 stall. With that and some 3:73, look out

30th, here's how to get in the 12's

12.97@106.66
60ft was 1.97
Mods- Free ram air, lid
Tires -Kelly T rated
Weather was about 50degF
DA was about -350ft

Staging technique was to just barely light the 2nd stage bulb. Bring car up against converter as far as possible and nail the gas as hard and fast as I could. Run was made at Mason Dixon dragway in Maryland.

try www.fuddleracing.com for a custom tc. labor im told is about $200. gains can be around .2-.6 depending on how aggressive you go with the tc.

00cls1camaross,
Read again. DA (density altitude) was about -350ft not actual altitude of the track. Mason Dixon is +535ft above sea level.

Depends on the driver, but 3.42 gears coupled w/a less parasitic drivetrain.

Negative on the strut tower brace. They will actually HURT 1/4 performance. They make the front end more rigid, not allowing it to flex as much. This is good for cornering, but bad for launching. Watch a car with some power take off from the line.. you'll see the one side will lift higher than the other. That's completely natural. If you take away it's ability to do that, you're hurting your launch. Same reason why a lot of people take off their front sway bar too. Lets the front transfer weight more efficiently, and also saves 20 lbs.

I didn't know that a strut tower brace can hurt you in the 1/4 mile? I have a S.T.B. on my car now. I will see next year if it effects my time or not. I have the storage insurance on it right now and I can't drive it until around May.

You have to be pretty darn fast before a strut tower brace is going to have a noticable effect on your times. If you do the other suspension mods (SFC, TA, PHB, LCA's with relocation brackets), it will more than make up for any "loss" caused by a STB.

I have seen 2 LS1 cars go 12.30s with the same mods, they are:

Drag radials

Remove front swaybar

Lid

cutout

stall converter(larger one)

Turn off torque management in the ecm

Free mods

One had 3.23 gear, the other had a 3.42 gear

Thas it

Actually, it would be a smaller converter.

Well, what would you consider "pretty damn fast?"

I think anyone pulling a 1.7 60' or faster would definitely be wise in removing the front swaybar and NOT having a STB. When you start launching hard, every little bit helps. It only takes a little time difference in the 60' to make up big in the end. That's why it's figured for every .10 seconds you shave off in your 60', it'll net you .20 seconds off in your overall ET.

TransGo valve body reprogramming kit

B&M 19,000 gvw cooler

where do you buy this stuff? and what is it purpose?

Is the valve body reprogramming kit called a manual valve body that allows you to sift your car like a manual with out a clutch?

B&M 19,000 gvw cooler... is just a high performance tranny cooler?
