Ok I am going to the track this Friday for the last time this season. I have a question. When I take off my air lid and take out my K&N...I see the bottom of my air box. I cut out the bottom of my air box but now it looks like their is a plastic shroud that is infront of the radiatior that comes up and then block a good portion of the bottom of the air box...how do I remove this plastic shroud. I figured it would be easy but I can get it out and it look slike a pain in the *** to cut out the top part..and even if I did it looks as though it would still be restricting quite a bit, please help!!

 

I have never done this mod but www.installuniversity.com says to cut it out with a Dremel tool.

I tried forever to get that piece out - without success. I ended up cutting away the plastic with a box cutter. It was really easy.

 

Box cutter sounds easier than dealing with melting platic like you would with a dremel, I'll give that a shot, thanks.

 

its not hard to get out....mine's gone....u have to pull out the two white plastic push pin looking things holding it in in the middle and then u have to give it a good tug to get it most of the way up. you''ll then notice that its caught under the radiator support on something. i can't remember what exactly as i did the free ram air mod a long time ago but if u take ur time and trace the shroud down under the rad. support ull find what its caught on....its not fastened, just kinda stuck in place.....trust me, inspect the thing closer and ull have it out in 10 minutes.

sorry for the vagueness of my advice. i did the mod so long ago i cant remember exactly but trust me it WILL come out just undo the plastic pins pull it up till it gets stuck and trace it down under the rad support to find what its stuck on, mine came out without breaking.....just takes some time...
