How good is this cam with a full bolt-on car. What kinda power gains will I see and what else is recomended to do when doing a cam.

Along with this valve spring kit. Will these two work well together. open to suggestions.

Re: How is this cam?

I'd go with a F-13 cam from Futral Motorsports (www.futralmotorsports.com) if you're looking at a cam that size. They are tried to true to make over 400rwhp with all the bolt-ons, while still retaining lots down low and great driveability.

As far as the valve-spring kit goes, I'd go with the PRC Dual spring setup and titanium retainers.... wait a second... I know someone who has one for sale with the 241 casting LS1 heads for cheap! LOL!

You can use the stockers but a set of after market or ported stockers would definately increase the performance level of your engine. With that 110 LSA it's going to choppy for sure, you should probably look into a tune after the install.I'm sure you realize that you need to at least upgrade your valve springs too if you decide to keep your stock heads!

yes I was planning on valve springs and retainers and pushrods all at once. Is a home port job possible on heads. I did one on my TB with my dremel and a carbide bit and assorted sanding bits. But don't know how good it would be to port and polish on my own.

I wouldn't try that myself, you could ruin your heads real easy if you don't really know how much material to remove and from where it should and should not be removed! Leave that to the pros.I recently bought the other cam that patriot offers, its the 226/226-585/585 cam on a 112 LSA. It is a little tamer than one you are looking at and has better street manners too. I haven't put it in yet but I got to hear a car with this cam and I was impressed with the way it sounded and how well the car idled. Good Luck!
