hotcam vs. TR 220/220

ive looked on the search but still cant find good answers. so hopefully ya can help me out. which cam would be best for me. the hotcam or the TR 220/220. i gotta 00 Z28 A4. i would like to go with the hotcam cuz of the price. i hope the 220 cam you dont have to drill a hole in the throttle body and stuff.so which will give me the best hp gain, driveability?

they will probably make about the same #'s but the tr220 on a 114 would idle better.

I have had the TR220/114 cam for well over a year and 14K miles. It drives like stock once warmed up, made 380 rwhp with bolt-ons and stock heads, and passes inspection. I suggest it for a daily driver.

with an A-4 I would go with the 220 out of those two, should be able to pick up a used one fairly cheap.

The hotcam will definitely sound better, but the TR 220 should make more power.

Correct me if Im wrong, but to a certian point, the higher the LSA the less choppy the idle.

Thunder Racing only lists the TR220 at a 112 or 114 lsa so I dont think it is possible to get it on a 119.5 lsa unless they do custom grinds which they may.

Yes, a higher lsa will give a better idle whereas a lower lsa will give the idle a nice lope.
