today i was offered a hotcam for my crane cam, which the specs are..

hotcam- 219/228.- 525/.525 -112 lsa

or

crane-220/220.-551/551.-112lsa

which of these are the better cam , i know theres a lot better out there but as of right now its all i have to choose from so any and all input is greatly appreciated......and if anyone has the crane cam how does it sound at idle and how does it run , i know how the hot cam sounds but ive never heaqrd the crane before..

 

Just wait and save for a better one?

I'm not a fan of weiner cams, it's very Freddie jackson like, and you'll only end up getting a better one eventually....

i am by no means an expert on the ls1 but the futral cams seem to be pretty popular around here, f 13 or something

F13 and F14 are good...high lift versions too...
TR224 or 228 are also good...

I dunno, anything but a weiner cam...224 and up would be good...

well like i said at the top these are the ONLY cams as of right now , im not worried about later , yea later i will but that will be a long time i have other hobbies and bills to pay for so its only between the two , thats why i wanna know what the better can between them are.

 

The crane cam listed seems pretty comparable to my MTI T1 (221/221 .558/.558 112lsa). I went with a "baby" cam at the time because I was in high school and didn't have the money to get my car tuned, haha. I had an A4 so I went with something that would still idle and drive. Now I am ready for something bigger. However with that being said, I was pretty suprised with how this cam changed my car, really pulls hard from 3300RPM's to redline...and with it being on a 112lsa it sounds like a bigger cam than what it is....is that ricey to say? haha. The LS1 hotcam sounds nasty as well, haha. The choice is yours!

 

which do u think sounds better , the hot cam or the mt1 t1 ?

I personally think the hot cam sounds more nasty..or lopey if you will. The hot cam sounds a little different than the crane or my MTI because the hot cam is 219/228 and our cams are 220/220 in your case and 221/221 in my case.
It may not sound as radical but you'll def. be able to tell you have some sort of bump stick in there with the crane cam. My decision was pretty easy, I went with what would make more horsepower when faced with the decision between the MTI T1 and the hot cam. When I was looking I found both used for relatively the same price with about the same miles on LS1tech.com.
