what do i gain from having better performance than HP?

Umm, better performance .

Do you want to "look" fast, or "be" fast? You can have ~400 RWHP but not make use of all of it, and only run ~high 12's. Or you can have ~300 RWHP but with things like stall converters and lower gears, making the most use out of the power you've got, and run mid-low 12's!

The idea is, find how to get the most out of your car with the engine it's got before you start cranking out more HP. Once you think you've found its "limit", then you start increasing HP .

Like the old saying goes, "all the HP in the world is nothing if you can't put it to the ground". Besides, bench racing (dyno #'s) are only cool on the internet!

of course makes sense to max out what you got, then add more. just making sure that's what was meant, and not twist or over think what you guys told me. im really going to put all this info to use. and give you an update as soon as i get started. thanks!!!
