Hooker LT's

I will be purchasing a set of Hooker LT's pretty soon. My concern right now is the install. I would like to have my regular mechanic install them, instead of a local exhaust shop. The problem is neither shop can tell me how long it will take to install LT's on a 98 LS1, let alone Hooker LT's. Did any of you guys run into problems with the Hooker LT's, did you have modify anything to get them to bolt up? The dilemma I face is that if modifications to the headers need to be done, I'm going to have to take the headers to the exhaust shop. My reason for avoiding the exhaust shop in the first place was that they told me I couldn't fit LT's on 98 LS1 Camaro. So please, is anyone aware of modifications to the headers or chasis etc when installing the Hooker LT's? Are there headers out there that absolutely bolt up without modifications?

Thanks for the help guys, it's greatly appreciated.

I don't have any experience yet, but from what I've heard others say, you need to take off the coil packs on the passenger side during installation, and also set aside the steering shaft or whatever the hell it's called. You can find LOTS of things if you do a search though.

It takes several to many hours. 8-12 is common.

My exhaust guy got it done in about 7-8 hours with a lift, but he had never installed headers on an LS1, let alone a 4th gen F-body before.
