Cool as homer simpson would say...

..."when i gun the motor, i want people to think the world is coming to an end..." anyway, just installed my cutout, and love it. thanks to all the people on this site who recommended it. i guess i'm one of those people who it can never be loud enough for. some say a cutout is too loud, but i wouldn't mind it even louder. i have always wanted my car to sound like my buddy's 71 chev pickup, and with the cutout, this is the closest it's ever sounded to that. thanks guys...

no, for 2 reasons: first for financial reasons, didn't really have the extra $130 right now. second, i don't think i'll ever close it (except for emissions testing). she's staying open all the time.

I just got mine installed last week, and like you I love mine too. But trust me you'll want to close it on long trips. Or when you have people in your car that arent car enthusiasts that would appriciate the performance and volume. I had to drive with a co worker about 80 miles, so I closed it just to be polite. I keep the wing nuts and cap in the glove box.

Yes, keep some pliers handy too, if you cap it and finger tighten the nuts good, they will so tight you will need pliers, don't drive with somewhat loose, you will loose them.

My opinoion is now, you spend $35 for the cut-out and like 40 to install it and then $135 for the electric and all the frustration of wiring it, and before you realize it you've spent $210 for a cut out, so IMO you're much better getting a real exhaust system.

but it is worth the initial $75, they sound awesome at launching over 4,000 rpm, everybody just stops and looks.
