if you want to stay stock heads...you'll need to go bigger. now that i've go a good clutch and a light flywheel i am in the 390s with my setup in the signature. nice cam, good street manners. i think with more agressive tune i would hit 400 to the wheels...and that's on stock heads.

now thats sweeet, your setup is sweet. So is this car a daily driver? Have you had any problems with this setup? what about piston to valve clearence and valve overlap? hows it sound and when does this cam kick in, 2500 rpms, 3000 rpms???? whats the idle like? got a website? ?? dont trip about awnsering all of these questions although i realy would be thankful
Re: Hey YOu!
sorry bout the delay...was on vacation...
now before i start i want to mention i've never ridden in any other cammed LS1...
so everything i mention is based on my car from stock.
piston to valve...
no problems. you can run in the low .600" lift with stock heads and have enough clearance. i'm running the torquer with CC918 springs, good for .600" lift (but i'm told they can safely handle more).
note: i noticed TSP modified their torquer cam, it has more lift now. i think it was 232/234 .595"... so i would run bigger springs i think.
sound...
awesome, nice lope at idle and a good roar on the road
the cam seems to really kick in around 2500 i would say. it drives fine down low. since i dont' do much highway (85miles to the nearest road that allows anything over 55mph) i run it alot in 6th gear at 55. it runs right along nice at 12-1300rpms...as long as you don't have hills or any passing.
right now my only problem is cam surge at 1500rpms. the tune was a "rush job" so i think more time on the dyno will get more power and better manners. its not horrible, but i notice it more since alot of my area is 45mph, which is right at 1500 in 5th gear.
on a side note, i have done 2 trips that both ran 300miles. 200 of that was at 80mph, and 100 was at 55mph...one tank got me 18.2mpg and the other was 18.6mpg for fuel milage.
