Question How long did your NGK TR55's last?

I've got about 30,000 miles on mine now, and am not sure if they're as strong as they once were.

Also, when I first installed them, I threw on a set of Taylor Spiro Pro wires.. Should I replace them as well? Or just the plugs?

Let me know something. Thanks in advance.

I believe the plugs should be good for around 15k miles. At least that's been my routine with past cars. I just changed to my second set last week, and it pings a lot less.

As for the wires, they're so damn expensive I hope they last at least 50k, but I'm not too sure.

My TR6s have been in the car for about 15k or so miles, they seem to be running just fine. I'll probably end up putting new TR6s in this winter when the mod bugs strike back since it's at about 15k now. It might not be a bad idea to replace the plugs, but the wires should be fine. If not, you could use the stock ones again, those wires are good

15K miles?! Wow. If that's the norm, that's a little too short-lived for me. I might as well put platinums in.. Should I go back to the AC Delco's?

Yea, with these cars (4th gens) I think it's better to go with AC delcos personally. They last longer which means you don't have to change them out nearly as much. I also run NGK TR55s though in my Z so I guess I'm a hyprocrite.
Unless there's a problem with your wires, don't change them. They should last 100k imo.

I don't know what you guys pay for plugs but even at 15k, TR55's are more of a bargain for me, 2.00 bucks versus 8.00 bucks a plug. I had problems with the AC Delco platinums at any rate. I had an element break off.

Yea, the money isn't an issue really. I just have never heard of changing spark plugs once a year! I guess it's not too crazy. The NGK's are great, don't get me wrong, but they just don't last.

Hmm.. I wonder how the platinum NGK's perform?

Well, I'm sure 15k miles isn't the limit, just something of a habit for me, and now that I know what to expect when it comes to changing the plugs, a 3 hour job once a year for piece of mind. Tell you the truth, most of that three hours was spent trying to get the damn boots off of the plugs. Kept pulling at the wire on the pass middle plug until it snapped. I was like WTF I do now. Ended up getting it off 1 hour later. Applied a LOT of die-electric lube this time

If you got 30k out of them and it doesn't sputter or stumble, then who cares. Until it becomes a problem for you don't change it. It's probaly only a few hp at most anyway.

I'm sure the plugs would last longer than 15k miles, I just swap them (among other things) each winter so the car is "fresh" when it comes out of storage
