Angry Help! Metal piece broke out of Taylor wire

Comparing it to another wire, I managed to stick it back in as far as it will go but it still doesn't quite look like the others.. This plug change was going perfect until #8 too!

Can I still use this wire? Need help as fast as possible guys, thanks.

Re: Help! Metal piece broke out of Taylor wire

Re: Help! Metal piece broke out of Taylor wire

It's the metal piece in the connection between the actual plug and the wire, not the one between the wire and the coil. I should've distinguished that. I managed to jam it back in there and it SEEMS ok. Won't know until I put it back together and run it though.

****.

just check resistance and if its not far off then dont worry about it, did you put some dielectric grease on it?

Re: Help! Metal piece broke out of Taylor wire

Ok, here's what I did. Everything's put back together, except I switched the #8 wire with the #2 wire. So if it's messing up I can see if plain as day. When putting the "bad" wire on plug #2, it clicked on with no problem. I'm about to start it up..

I used grease too.

Just fired it up and everything appears to be fine. I'm gonna wash it and then take it for a spin. I appreciate the replies man.

good to hear... its always such a relief when something gets broken but yet still works as good as new...

and at least now if you start to get a slightly rough idle when it heats up you will know exactly what it is...

Go to a performance shop and buy a new terminal, install and forget about it. Or reuse your old one. Just open up the ends, and crimp it back onto the wire.

That's exactly what I had to do. "Adjusted" the metal terminal a bit and shoved it as far as I could. Runs great.
