Help me please.....I need answers!
I just installed my SLP cold air duct on my car over the past weekend
and the installation went fine no problems at all. I didn't start it up until
today checking to see if I notice any little difference in HP. I drove maybe
3-5 miles and the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light came on and that light has
never come in 5yrs. and now it doesn't want to go off at all. What do I
need to do to get this back to normal operations. I need help ASAP!

Check your wires. First of all, what do you mean by "SLP cold air duct"? The lid that covers the air filter or the ram air crap that scoops air from under the car? Check the wires for the intake air temperature sensor that you may have had to unhook to install the lid. Also the mass air flow sensor if you got the smooth bellows and took off/unplugged your MAF. Just make sure the wiring connectors where you were working are plugged in. If these are all plugged in snugly, then you may want to go to Autozone or somewhere and have them pull the codes. They'll do it for free, and with some codes pulled you'll be able to figure out where your problem is.
Re: Help me please.....I need answers!
The SLP cold air induction duct is the stainless steel part that sits in front of the radiator. Sometime it's called C.A.I. and some people call it the cold
air kit that picks up fresh air in front of the radiator. I know I removed the
high flow lid, bellow and the M.A.F. sensor. I have one of those spark advance
chip in the intake air temperature sensor and it's not plugged into the
connection to the lid but that never made the S.E.S. light come and I have
had that in for about 2 months. I will check all of my connections again and see tomorrow. I hope that the problem is a real simple non conected hook-up.
I also tried to seal the lid real good with that weather stripping to try to make a real good seal around the K&N and the lid and the SLP C.A.I. kit.
Do you think that could be it also because I wanted to make the seal air leak free? Has anyone had this happen to them?

Yeah check your connections, but the lid not being sealed would not turn on your SES light. Spark advance chip I'm not familiar with. Most likely you just didn't snug down a connector, but the only way to find out is to pull some codes and see what you got.
Re: Help me please.....I need answers!
Went to Autozone and they did a scan and they said there were 3 things
to be wrong. 1. Bad oxy sensor 2. Not driven enough because I know I
haven't put over 40-50 on it all year and all it does it sits in the garage.
The last time I drove it before this happened was in May. It was on 1/4 of a tank of gas. I put that gas in the car last year in Sept. because I was told to not put alot of gas in the tank over winter. The guy at Autozone told
me to just drive it and make sure I only use premium gas. The O.S. may just
have build up on it and make sure the gas cap is on tight. I'll drive it and see
what I can come up with and hopefully this takes care of it. Thank you to all you guys!
