Help, friend's 99 Z28 Won't shift right.

He just got the car and whenever it shifts it hits the rev limiter a few times first and then shifts. What's the problem, he reset his pcm and it still does it, anyone have any ideas.

Yeah I don't know what it is but the car has 19,000 miles on it. I don't know if I reset my PCM right, and I think it is not my Trans because this only happens when I give it full throttle. I don't know what it is so if anyone can help me or let me know

Sounds to me like the tranny is slipping and needs a rebuild, anyone else care to chime in?

It shifts fine when I give it full thorttel and then I let up and then back down on the gas when it is about to shift. It shifts fine after that through 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Thats not how I shift my A4, I just put it to the floor and let it do the shifting. Face it, your tranny is shot and you are just compensating for it.

no offense man but your pcm will never relearn it's shift points it is always the same it is the tranny that does the shifting.
