heads

I just bought a set of mti stage 2 ported ls6 heads ,does anyone know any thing about these heads? Any information would help. I am trying to find out about them so I can find a camshaft that wil work with this application.

Thanks for your help
Frankie

Re: heads

Thanks, do you know where I can look to try and find out the flow? They are hand ported and opened up very nice. The guy that had them is a tuner in VB and he had them on a 99 vette. He claims 440 hp at the wheels with a small cam is what it made does that sound right? I think he said a 220 duration with like a 530 or 540 lift.

Thanx again

Re: heads

If they're the 2e heads that I believe they are, they advertised 315cfm intake @ .600" lift with a 4" bore. On the LS1 3.89" bore, only 307cfm.

Back in 2004? when I was researching heads for my build, our local flow bench had a set and they did around 290 intake and 195 exhaust at .600", with less than stellar mid-lift flow. For over $2200, it wasn't worth it. The new 220cc PRC heads had better numbers and were half the price, and that's what I ended up with.

Those power numbers seem a little high for a 220 duration cam, but without knowing the rest of the combo anything is possible. I would expect to see 410rwhp or so with an LS6 intake and headers/good exhaust through a manual trans.
