Got my dyno numbers!
Re: Got my dyno numbers!
Oh I've got street tires and my shocks are adjustable. What keeps it off the street is the pro gears in the rear. Pro gears are much stronger (to resist breakage) than street gears but also much softer so they will wear out way faster. A 60 mile round trip to Lansing is equalivent to almost a years wear on the drag strip. That's a pretty hefty price to pay for a fun trip to the dyno for numbers that don't matter. The ones that matter are in the sig.
Re: Got my dyno numbers!
On that same dyno at VTP back in the summer of 02 my 00 Formula automatic with unlocked converter pulled only 312hp and 33x torque with a lid, off road Y, and a loudmouth. With a 3500 Yank converter in it. But the car ran 108 (in the heat) to 110+ (best) MPH in the 1/4.
According to the dyno #s your car shoud run 1 mph faster than mine did.
And in the fall of 1999 our 98 SS M6 dynoed a whopping 277hp and 294tq on a Mustang dyno but ran a best of 13.30 @ 107 mph in the 1/4 on a 2.03 60'.
Just use dyno numbers to judge gains from future mods.

Re: Got my dyno numbers!
I'm quick with the shifter, but I still do a complete lift on both the clutch and the gas. Some more practice has netted a slight improvement on my best trap speed -- I'm up to 107.8, and it was 20-30 degrees warmer that day than when I ran the 107.55.
Re: Got my dyno numbers!
Damm nice numbers on your car! Did you get a chance to see what it runs at the track yet. You are about dead even with my new numbers.
I would love to see your car at the track sometime. How has everything else been going? I am having Chris install a rebuilt tranny in my car on Friday. My clutch packs went out in mine. I picked up a rebuilt with minor upgrades to get me thru until next summer. I want to hit the track one more time this year. If weather holds this Sat. morning they are running at Milan. You should come out.

Sounds like you're on your way to a quick pass this Saturday. The cold air will definitely make it fun! I'd come out, but I'm going to be up in Lansing and the SS is down for the winter I think. Best of luck with yours this weekend!
And maybe it would, if I were powershifting, or if I could actually get off the line in a reasonable amount of time. Was your car a full-options car with leather and t-tops?

I personally only use dyno numbers for tracking gains and only use one dyno facility.
Drivers are so different that its easy for a good driver in a 320rwhp car to beat a bad driver in a 360rwhp car.
My car is happy with its 320rwhp/337rwtq stock.. no lid no nothing added..
85K miles now so its getting up in the years..

If that's so, then how did Dr. Emmet Brown manage to get his Delorean up to 88MPH on the wet asphalt of a shopping mall parking lot??
damn funny
