Nothing wrong with the SLP cam, but it is really tame. However, they've got a new one out, with much higher hp numbers that I haven't seen advertised yet.

You have to ask yourself what you want out of the cam.

High horsepower?
High reliability?
Low RPM Torque?
High RPM HP?
Nitrous or forced induction friendly?
Sleeper or lumpy sound?
Want it to work with stock tuning?
Ever plan to do heads?

Very tame is right....if you want to keep a nice lobe and pass emissions I suggest an LS6 cam...they produce good power but give you a stock feel...good luck

I'd take the SLP cam over the LS6 cam. Both will idle very smooth, but I think the SLP cam would have a slight performance edge based on the specs. If you're concerned about nitrous, I'm admittedly no expert, but I suspect with the better exhaust lift and duration numbers over the intake numbers, that the SLP cam would be fairly nitrous friendly. Certainly no less friendly than the stock cam.

If emissions are a concern, you can go even bigger, as long as you have the car tuned. Just stay with a cam with a 114 LSA or higher. With good tuning, it is possible to get a cam with up to 224 duration to pass most emissions.

Its a tame cam indeed but still a step up from an ls6. If you're looking to stay emissions legal and keep your lowend that cam would be a good choice.
