GMMG Exhaust Installation

I have a 2000 SS which has the SLP factory optional exhaust on it. This is the system with the dual round tips on each side. I am considering changing to the GMMG because the system on there now is just too quiet. In looking at the GMMG websiite, it appears that their chambered exhaust starts somewhere over the top of the rear axel. On my present system, the pipe goes over the axel in one piece and is clamped at the muffler entry. My question is, is the GMMG system designed to install at the factory clamped sections, or is there cutting and welding involved in installing this system? I e-mailed and called GMMG but have not received a return e-mail or a return call from their answering machine. I am hoping that some of those that have actually bought and installed this system can help me out. Thanks in advance.

You remove the factory exhaust at the clamp right near the cat.

Easiest way is to drop the rear end, unbolt the old exhaust right after the cat, then put the GMMG exhaust in, reattach the rear end. Presto!! It's done.

So yes it does go over the rear axle.

OK, that explains it. So the GMMG system is a full cat back system. Their web site only shows the muffler area and a small section of pipe coming off of the mufffler area. Has any one else had trouble contacting these folks? It seems they don't answer their phone, don't return phone messages and don't return e-mail messages.

Theyre probably pretty busy and get swamped with these things alot each day. Theyre not really in for the exhaust business but sell their systems (why they probably dont take credit cards). But I recieved my exhaust system pretty quick (mighteve been due to the fact it was around a major holiday) .... but mailed my money order on last monday.....and recieved it yesterday. Probably wouldnt be wise to send a check if you want it as soon as possible. As they wait for it to be cleared before they ship.
