GMHTP pg. 66, bad dyno?
I was reading the GM High-Tech Performance article on pg. 66 in the September 2003 issue dealing with the Diablo Sport programmer, and that Z28 they used dynoed REAL low.
In the caption at the bottom of the page they said it put down 269.96 HP and 287.78 TQ. This guy had an SLP cold air lid, Pro 5.0 shifter, and a Dyno mouth exhaust.
Doesn't that seem a little low, especially for an '02?

That was on DiabloSport's dyno, it's a SuperFlow dyno. I actually think those numbers are pretty accurate...but maybe not because I have no idea what the car runs (at the track). The guy who's car they used is a member here. Maybe he'll chime in with some track numbers.
I personally think most of the time Dynojet's are a little on the high side or sometimes way on the high side. Nice thing about them though is that almost everybody uses a Dynojet so it's easier to compare numbers...but when I see someone put down 325rwhp in their almost stock LS1 and they're only running 105ish traps, that just doesn't add up. IMO, 325rwhp in a 3400-3500lb. F-body should get you 110+ traps. Assuming they're running at or around sea level. JMO
I'm actually hoping to get over there sometime to see what my car is making, just for s**ts and giggles because I'm more concerned with track numbers than dyno numbers. Anyway, in this heat, I'm thinking my car should go high 111s - low 112s. IMO, that should be around 330-335rwhp and maybe a little higher after they're corrected (heat and humidity down here right now is ridiculous).
Are those numbers accurate, inaccurate? I dunno but I think they're probably pretty close.

The numbers arwe bad! they were corrected and according to the dyno, the 2002 6 speed Z28 with a lid and catbak was putting out 310 HP at the motor. That would equate to 285 HP stock. That would be a GROSLY underrated Z28. I think the Dyno neess some real callibration.
