General SS ans WS-6 Question

Hey guys...I know it's not tech, but I have a couple questions.
I know the SS was sent to SLP to be modified in 96 and 97, but what about the LS1 cars? Didn't GM actually do the modifications? Also, what was the stock HP rating for the 02 SS? And what about the WS-6 and Firehawk? Were those LS1 cars sent to SLP to be modified? Thanks.

The 2002 SS is rated at 325 hp standard and 345 hp with the SLP upgrades. The 2002 WS6 is rated at 325 hp. The 2002 Firehawk is rated at 345 hp. I know SLP didn't make the WS6. I am not sure if the LS1 cars were actually sent to SLP, I read something about GM buying SLP about the time they started putting the LS1 in Camaros, so its very possible the moidifications were done at the factory.

GM never bought SLP, if they had, things like that disgusting thunderbolt ranger never would have existed.

Your right. I ran a search on it. Chevy bought the rights to the SLP package and started doing the changes inside the GM factory.

That article makes me laugh. The guy who wrote the article tries so badly to make the mustang sound better, but theres just arguing between a LS1 and a 4.6l ford engine.
