general question about my 99 z28

Smile general question about my 99 z28

i have me 99z28 in the shop getting long tube headers, k&n cold air intake,3:73 gear, 160termostat, and a hypertech programmer. how much more hp should i have than before and will it be different?

What catback are you running? The gear and thermostat aren't going to give you HP, you're probably looking at a 15-25hp increase, it depends on a whole lot of things. Get a dyno and tune to see where you're at.

The longtubes and K&N will give you around 20-25rwhp. The 3.73s won't do anything to add power, the 160* thermo will do absolutely nothing without the fans coming on early, and the hypertech will probably subtract a few horsepower.

He'll be alright if he doesn't use the tuning . Just use the Hypercrap to set the fan on and off temps and reprogram for the gear change.

And to the OP, if you don't have a good catback the headers and intake won't help much.

Like they said.

The gear will not give you power. It will help you accelerate by swapping to a lower gear.

And definately, if you dont already, get a catback.
