I've been consistently averaging 20-21mpg with combo city driving/Chicago expressway traffic. For a V8, I'm very impressed. One of my previous cars a '97 Pontiac GTP used to average 22mpg with the 3800 engine. 1mpg lost and 70hp gained? You do the math!!!

Wink

LA roads are definately the worst! I average about 22 miles a gallon, my best being 27mpg. I drive 28 miles to work one way 3 times a week with a lot of traffic lights and I occasionally take off fast.

16 - 17 MPG in the city ... 26 on the highway (verified that over the t-giving holiday --- 600 miles in 4 days)

In the city, I drive it fairly easy with 1-2 and 2-3 shifts at 3,000 and the 3-4 shift at 2,500. I stay in 4th in the city and 5th on the highway around town. I shift into 6th only if I'm staying at 70 or above for extended lengths.

On the highway for road trips, it stays in 6th with the cruise set on 80 or 85 (depending on traffic and what state I'm in) Oh, and just a couple of runs up into the low triple digits.

Your highway mileage probably stinks because you drive to slow

With the 98 M6 it's 28 hwy. 23-24 for mixed city/highway
With the 00 A4 it's 25 hwy. 21 for mixed. City, hwy (55), xway (80), and 1/4 mile drag racing. During the summer I never go thru a tank of gas the doesn't have some track time on it

Beats me what my mpg is. I just know it goes fast (the car and the gas). And yes, I do have a heavy foot. Can't help it.

can't... stop... foot...
must... press... gas...
must... go... faster...

I hit traffic to and from work. About 45 minutes to an hour each direction and it's only a 27 mile drive. I fill up when I have a quarter tank left and I see that I normally hit 207miles. The few times I let it go down to E I hit 250..could have been 256 but I dont remember. I am driving out of town this weekend, so check back and I will tell you what highway miles I get. I'm thinking I will hit 300 or more, but we will see. If I forget to reply email me and I will post.
