Gas Mileage
i have an a4, '98z.
i fill up my tank when it hits 1/4 full....and i do that every six days.
five days a week = 34 miles
two days = 46 miles
7days/week..i drive about 80 miles
the ls1 really surprised me...so much power, but the mileage is great imho. to think, most people look down on me because they think because i have a z the mileage must suck!!
if they only knew suvs suck more gas than crap and my z will run circles around them.
no offense to suv owners in here btw

out of sheer habit, I log every fillup with mileage.
I average 18-20mpg normally. On the highway I can get 26-28mpg. I am going to try for a 30+ soon.
On my LT1 I would get 240miles per tank. On rare occasions, I would pull 260. The smaller tank and its tendency to drink more really annoyed me. The LS1 is amazing. The better gas mileage and the larger tank are just the icing on the cake. I now get 280-320 miles per tank. The indicator actually works and comes on when you have about 3 gallons left. My LT1 had me walking about 4-5 times while I owned it...

on a recent road trip, I averaged over 30 on the way from Omaha NE to Minneapolis MN. I left Minneapolis late and I pushed the car a little harder than I normally would (85+ on interstate) and I averaged about 20-21mpg. The mileage is great if you dont have a lead foot. Around town, I dont even want to know what it gets.
Dunno - I routinely top off when it hits 3/4 - I might let it go as low as a 1/2.
I got into this routine when gas prices were bouncing around like a ping pong ball and I never stopped.
Typically, I get around 85 - 90 miles on the first 1/4 tank - it always reads above full when I start - for around 18 MPG or so.
Best on the highway was 24 - worst (recently) with very, very heavy use of the accelerator around town
was 14.6 or so.
That highway mileage was with the old cluster, and the thing read off - I let it go down to about 3/8 tank and it only took about 10.5 gallons.
Later !

On an average tank I get about 17 mpg.. that is with moderate city driving. I get on the interstate from time to time and get to stretch out into 6th for a few miles. Over the Thanksgiving holidays when I stayed on the road a lot with highway miles I got about 22 mpg.
I was getting like 17.7-18.5 but then I stuck on the headers withour EGR and I'm at like 16mpg or even 15mpg. I want emissions back.
I get like 27hwy.
How freaky to think that my coworkers have cars that get city milage as good as my highway...
I need a daily driver econobox

Average is 26.6 and always over 300 miles per tank. I don't granny it around, the cutout is usually open and I always rev it higher than the CAGS so I get to pick the gear. My driving is always of mix of city/highway.
My 02 Z28 M6 gets at worst 16 mpg on a 100% city-driving tank of gas, and I rarely go more than 6 miles at a time. I'm very satisfied, since my 89 Formula M5 never did better than 14 mg in all-city driving.
I haven't done a tank of highway driving yet. The Fomula got 23+ on the Interstate at 70-75mph, so I expect about 26 from the Z.

Yes, Yes, I hate you all... I live in New Orleans. The streets are so bad here that I never get out of 3rd gear... They are so bad that I have turned a corner, looked at the street, said "screw that", and backed up. If I stay in town I average 9-11 mpg... However, I make the drive from NOLA to Dallas every few weeks and get around 25-26...
I used to have a 99 V6 A4 'maro, and when I bought my SS, I didnt factor in gas mileage into the cost... oh wel...
