Post G Tech Pro times

I finally got around to trying my G Tech Pro the other night. After a few high 13 sec. runs, I did a 13.33 @ 113.3 mph. Can this be right? My car has a few mods, and it was a nice cool dry evening, but 113.3? Do you need to calibrate the G Tech? I just stuck it on the windshield, leveled it as best I could, and launched.

1999 Trans Am, M6, aftermarket ram air hood, ram air airbox sealed to hood, lid, K&N, EGR mod, Borla cat back (block-off plate installed), 275/40/17 BS RE730s, SFC, Edelbrock STB------------------

The G-Tech will be accurate for everything but the trap speed. Take about 4-5mph off and you will get your 108mph which is normal.

Yeah...I have tested mine at 2 different tracks. The times were exact, but the mph was 2-3mph too fast.

When using the G-Tech the key factors are how level the road is and how level it is. It needs to know this for its calculations.

I use mine at the track to get my 0-60 times.
It has often been spot on.

When using it on the street, I cruise down the lane I will be using for the distance I want and I watch the GTech indicator. If it goes from 0-2 the whole way then its ok.. 0-4 and the road has too many inconsistancies to give you a good reading.

Try and spend the extra time to ensure its at 0 and stable.. press the button and -GO-!
At the track, you can creep to the line with -GO- flashing.. It will not start until you launch.. Just no dry hops.

Also remember that most cars dont go faster and faster after repeated runs.. They tend to go a bit slower since the engine gets hot.

I will run my car once every hour or so..

Hope this helps.

G-Tech used on a public road is nothing more than a guess-timate.

Yep, we tried it in a friends 89' GTA on a road that went up and then back down hill, ended up with 16.8 seconds, hehe. The car actually did 14s.
