Funny story of shattered Valve Spring Seat...

Ok, so i found shards of metal on the magnet on my oil drain plug. im thinking, holy geez, something is super gayed up. so i can tell the metal fragments are from a valve spring seat, but i dont know which one. so yesterday i pulled off the drivers side cover and saw a shred of metal hanging from the second spring from the front. im thinking i will just grab it, but no, its stuck under the spring still. so i pressure up the cylinder and compress the springs, take out the keepers and start to pull the little fragments out by hand. then i grab a magnet. i stick it down there, and what do you think happened? THE STOCK VALVE SPRING SEAT CAME UP ON THE MAGNET!!! i didnt even see the dang thing, when i installed the new springs, or even this time, it just blended in. so, i had an extra seat laying around, and threw it in, and buttoned it up. no wonder i was burning oil, it was all going down in the cylinder lol. oh well, all is back to good. Time to hit the drags this weekend!!
