Fuel Injection Service

The guys down at the local lube shop are always pushing a fuel injection cleaning service for $60. They explain that they run a can of this injector cleaing fluid direct into the rails and it does a good job of cleaning out the injectors.

Has anyone done this to their car and noticed any difference?

I am considering it because my car has a slight idle surge where in fluctuates 100 rpm at idle up and down. I pulled the plugs yesterday and the previous owner had a shop put in crap champion plugs that were shot to hell. I am putting in a quality set of plugs in hopes that will solve the problem.

Also I put on a new fuel filter, and the old one was heavy and noisy with setiment, so all of this maintaince may solve the slight problem. I just thought the fuel injection service as a last resort. I do run fuel injection additive once in awhile (the good stuff).

Thanks.

You can buy some GM top end cleaner or Seafoam. Both work well and don't cost anywhere near $60. I use Seafoam since it is easier for me to get and it is part of my normal maintenance routine.
