I guess I do not undertsand your point. Autolite supports guys like you with real technical training and presence at drag races, snowmobile races, MX and more. I do not understand the "It's japanese so it must be better" atitude. What does playing in F1 do for you? Autolite would rather support 100 racers with 10k a piece than pay an F1 team a million dollars to run our plugs. I am very happy you are using our product, I really appreciate that.

Re: Flashing check engine light/no codes set

I used to run Autolite 23's all day long when I had my Grand National. Never had a single problem with them. I switched to NGK TR6's on my Firehawk and never had a problem with them either. I switched mostly because I try to run what other people I know have had good experience with, not because there was an issue.

What Autolite plug do you guys recommend for a daily driven LS1?

Geoff,
Is it stock? If so, I would recommend the XP5245. If it is modified, need to know what has been done to recommend the right heat range. Send me your address at jay.buckley@honeywell.com and I will mail you a set to try out. And, no I cant give away 7$ spark plugs to everyone on the forum sorry..my boss would kill me.

103 for stock, go with the APP103 if you don't mind the additional cost.

104 for most streetable boosted or H/C builds.

104 is the same heat range as the TR6, which I run in my 00TA with 11.7:1 static compression.

Make sure to close the gap down to ~.040"

Finally, I don't care to spend a lot on plugs for a precious metal tip on the ground strap that I plan to modify anyway

104 is one heat range hotter than 103. you are not giving correct advice, if the car is modded, you need a colder plug, running a hotter plug can drive pre-ignition and roach your motor. Please watch the heat range video on the autolite website. Autolite number is the higher the number, the hotter the plug. NGK does the opposite, the higher the number, the colder the plug. If you use our race plugs, the side wire is allready cut back and has a V trim
