FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New buildup inside!

My car is finally home!

Allan Futral at FMS worked his magic on it.

I swapped my Mac Midlengths, Borla catback, and MTI X-1 cam for some Pacesetter LTs, TSP True Duals, and the F-14 Highlift.

Final numbers are 415/395 SAE, which is excellent torque for a cam-only car. The car doesn't stop pulling to the rev limiter and the new LTs and exhaust sound AWESOME. I should make a couple more horsepower when I switch to full synthetic.... I grabbed the first thing available when I drained the water out of the hydrolocked motor. My old rod has some nice curves to it now

My thoughts on this cam? Awesome! Great drivability even with a larger cam -- 232/234 .646/.612 on a 112 - After tuning, I wound-up picking up 35rwhp over the old setup and probably just as much torque. The car feels completely different now and pulls all the way to 6800 without hiccupping in the least.

Dyno sheet:
The peak horsepower is around 6200-6300 and holds steady until 6600+.
Peak torque is at 4700, but it makes 350rwtq at 3200 and 375rwtq by 4000.

Anyway, I have some spare parts for sale now

Sorry about the highjack, but will that f-14 cam work with a stock converter?

Maybe in neutral, but under a load it's way too big for a stock stall imo.

Technically, a stock cam doesn't work with a stock converter.

Figure that the LS1 makes peak torque over 4000 rpm, but the stock converter isn't over 2000. A stock car needs a 3600 stall.

It might work with a stock converter if you go with a bigger gear, but I seriously doubt that it would work with 3.23s and a stock stall.

Glad to hear that you got it back running. How about some details on what was done to revive it. Like rebuilt, used short block, new short block. This is a tech forum you know

I'm assuming you're using upgraded springs, rockers, etc...

How would the drivability be on that cam with an M6?

Just got a rod/piston from my buddy's spare C5 Z06 parts with about 30,000 miles on it (he has a forged 383 now) and reused my rings off of my piston because they were already broken in and matched that cylinder.

That's about it

Of course I upgraded the springs and of course I didn't upgrade the rockers. The springs are Patriot Golds and the rockers are stock. The only REAL upgrade over stock rockers is shaft. I even used stock rockers on my 408.

Driveability is awesome. Check the above I have a six-speed

I saw all that talk about converters and just assumed yours was an A4.

What clutch are you using?

nice.

i think that's the first numbers i've seen for the F14 highlift cam.

that extra lift really shined...and i'm sure the TDs helped too.

would be interesting to see what that cam did with some good heads.

Just curious....

What's up with the "FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" bit? It's been what, a few weeks since you hydrolocked it?

My trans has been stuck in 4th since October.
