ok i have an slp lid and i just bought a k&n filter to replace the paper one, but i noticed that its made for the stock air box, not my lid. it fits but not perfectly. anyone else have this issue? im assuming that its no big deal.

 

its the right one, dont worry.

 

this has been an old issue with the filters, if i remember correctly the filter wasn't even designed for the LS1 airbox...it was built for some other intake and it just fits close enough that they sell it as the LS1 unit

 

I bought one in early '01 along with my Whisper lid - came with some one sided 1/2" sticky foam insulation to put on the underside of the lid.
