ordered magnaflow cat-back, i heard not to use the u-bolts sinced they crush the pipe and are hard when removing. was wondering what size and how many band clamps to purchase for a magnaflow cat-back install?

 

Just exactly would you use 4 three inch clamps on a cat back install???

 

Three clamps by the muffler (1 in, 2 out) that are 3inches and/or 2.5inches, 1 over the axle that's 3inches and the 2.75inch clamp to the y-pipe. However, I can't remember if the 2 on the exit side of the muffler are 2.5inches for sure. When you get the catback, just look at the clamps and they'll say what size they are. Then, you can get what you need. Most autoparts stores can have them next day if you stop by in the morning.
