I also read that installing LTs on a LS1 was cake compared to a LT1....true?
Long tubes are never cake but compared to the LT1 they are very easy. Drivers side is dead simple. Passengers side is all about manual dexterity with the AC on that side. On 98 cars I pull the tappet covers/coils. On 99+ I pull the coil packs.

I'll just wait for the right deal. I am in no hurry

Thanks for the reply.

WTF?????? Hookers for $750??!!?? They are less than $500 new!

I got my Jet Hot LTs (based of the Hookers, but with improvements) For $511 shipped.

Why do you think the jet hot coating is too thin? I've had mine for 3 years and they still look great.

Please re-read my post. The $750 price is for Hooker LTs in stainless.

Jet Hot's coating is too thin. That is why the offer free lifetime coating. B/c it will eventually rust through. It did on my LT1 and numerous other f-bodies in our club.
Maybe you just got lucky.

NP.

We have a guy in our club that sells nitrous, suspension products, brakes, just about anything summit or the larger warehouses sell. He just posted about them last week. Here was his post on our forum:

Hooker Super Competition Longtube Headers for 98-02 Camaro. STAINLESS STEEL!! 5/16" Flanges and 1 3/4 Primaries! Sells in Summit for 1000.00 and other places for 812.00 before shipping!

Buy a set now for 750.00 SHIPPED!!

I have seen all the LTs out there, and had some experience w/ them, I just steer clear from SLP, and look for good deals.

Yeah, when I bought my car it had the Chokemaster kit on there. It sounds pretty good but the quality and engineering is embarrasing. One day I was at my apartment and I went out to my car to run to the store and I saw that my right tail pipe was hanging down. At first I was furious at the thought that someone actually stomped on my pipe to intentionally vandalize my car but when I got under there to have a look, it was completely rusted where the pipe meets the muffler. Alumanized steel... So I ended up ripping off the pipe (instead of having it fall off on the road and cause a wreck) and when I fired it up, the thing sounded horrible. I did some digging and found the Magnaflow kit from the same guy you went to and I am so glad I did! You are right, the sound is much more mellow and smooth. I love that it is just loud enough at cruising speeds you can have conversation and listen to your stereo, but when you push on the long pedal it will really sing! I think you made a great choice replacing the entire alumanized steel kit with stainless. Magnaflow will never rust and they flow very well. Best value in exhaust as far as I can see.

Good luck!

That is exactly why I bought the whole catback, and not just the muffler. I paid much less than anyone would think, but I can't post the website name on here. NO ONE could beat their price, and it was free UPS shipping

I love the sound of the Magnaflow, and I am sure it will be even better w/ the future LT's
