Re: Exhaust Opinions

"I think it was as quiet at idle as the stock exhaust"

it was slightly louder. i know i could never hear my exhaust at idle from inside the car, but the MF i could barely make it out.

and when reved up...oh yeah...

i mean, 1/2 the exhaust flow is directed out the passenger side tailpipe without any baffleing or sound deadening...the other half is sent through the muffler.
that is why it flows so well and sounds so loud when really reved

Re: Exhaust Opinions

lol borla= $600 cutout? Good info--- except it's not. Bypassing the muffler is optional. Most people get the best results from using one of the plates that flows a portion of the air through the muffler. Around $650-750 depending on which tips you go with.

Tri-flow is a good system, but the tips look out of place on fbodies (too big) and corsa sounds like v6 exhaust in my opinion. $845 for the B&B, and $650-775 for corsa depending on tip styles (Corsa is another one that in my opinion sounds worse the more heavily the car is modded).

Loudmouth will definitely let people know you're coming, but that's a system that's very polar. Some people hate it, some people love it. about $350 for this system.

Magnaflow is very quiet, if you're looking for loud and aggressive, i'd not recommend that one. about $400-425 SLP systems cost about the same.

GMMG is ugly and sounds goofy in my opinion. Too generic. Might as well get a flowmaster and be done with it. around $700 without tips, $850 WITH the tips.

Check out http://www.ls1sounds.com and decide which one appeals to you most. Everyone has a different opinion on exhaust systems.

Re: Exhaust Opinions

I voted other.

LM sound like glasspacks. A lot of people that get the LM end up changing it out becuase thy decide they don't like the sound.

Hooker is ok, just too quiet for me, and I don't like the tips.
Borla = overpriced

GMMG = WAY overpriced (I got my whole exhaust from headers back for about the same price)

I like the B&B, but its still just a 3" and isn't cheap either.

I'd say either true duals or Mufflex 3.5". Get away from all those cookie cutter single 3" systems. They're just .25" larger in diameter from stock. Let your LS1 flow!

Re: Exhaust Opinions

I'm another for Loudmouth. I'm a die-hard SLP fan, but the system is cheap, easy to bolt on, and flows well. Sounds great too, in my opinion.

I agree. I love the sounds of my hookers, especially at wide open throttle on the track.
