Electric water pump
Electric water pump
My pump is starting to leak at the seem and I know its gonna blow soon. Is anyone running an electric pump on their ls1 and what brand are you using? Also how reliable are they for a daily driver?
Re: Electric water pump
as far as i know...meziere is the only company that makes them.
and due to the price...not many are running them
contact angela...350 hrss...i am pretty sure she has one.

Re: Electric water pump
I've been running a street version Meziere on my 00 Formula for the past 3 years. Works great but I do not daily drive the car so I can not attest as to the longevity in that scenario. It will cool the motor much better than a stock pump at low rpms because it's always turning the same speed.
Re: Electric water pump
well cant find one...get ready to shell out some coin..most are in the 550 range..the race ones are like 400 but not recommended for DD use. if i remember correctly a new AC Delco one is only about 90 bucks or so.
Re: Electric water pump
"has anyone driven an electric waterpump car in the winter? id be curious as to how the motor operated around 20 degrees or so"
the motor will run as cool as the thermostat allows. the stat should restrict the water flow enough to maintain the temp about 10deg over the setting for the stat.
and as far as i know..unless you did some dedicated race pump that is a custom install....Mez is the only company that has the LS1 application right now....and it's $550+
