dyno/track results from DART LS1 heads?

these have been out for a few months now. i know Victory sells them, and i know SStrokerAce had a hand in evaluating them.

has anyone got some hard numbers on these heads??

i talked to Eric at victory and he reccomended the 205s for my setup. just wondering what peopel were getting for hp numbers with different cam setups.

I wasn't impressed with the dart flow numbers. I've seen ported LS1 heads with better numbers that cost less.

me too...but the intake runners are smaller on the Darts.

even the 5.3l heads are in the 220s for runners. not saying that's too big, but i would think the 205s would help with mid range power.

and i havn't seen any ported 5.7 or 5.3L heads for cheaper than the darts...a few right around the same price...but not cheaper.

The biggest advantage, as Bret (SStrokerAce) pointed out, is that there is a lot of material in the right places which make these heads prime for porting. The runner volume is great for mid range power but I think we'll see some very impressive numbers from these heads after porting and no need to be slathering on epoxy or welding. I'm thinking about getting a ported set for the 408 that I'm building.

I would think that just about any vendor that does ported heads will be offering some form of the dart head. Especially since the Dart bare head is cheaper than an LS6 factory head. They could offer a ported Dart head for less than a ported LS6 head and the Dart head will outflow the LS6 head.

The DARt heads full potential has not been tapped yet. I know a few different porters that are playing with a few sets, and will hopefully have some hp numbers in the coming months.

We should have some power numbers from a set of as-cast 205 heads soon. Details to follow and we will post graphs and numbers as soon as we have them.
