Dyno #'s from yesterday...

After putting headers on my buddy's car 2 weeks ago, he finally got it dyno-tuned yesterday.

Car is an '01 Trans Am.
His mods are SLP lid, Lowe's $5 Smooth Bellow , Pacesetter Longtubes & ORY, and Texas-Speed Rumbler cat back.

Corrected, the car put down 345 hp, 360 lbs of torque

Uncorrected, the car put down 365 hp, 381 lbs of torque.
Needless to say, we had a cold day here yesterday.

His car is a monster.

Re: Dyno #'s from yesterday...

He brought it to the track last night w/me....but he's still learning to drive it at the track. They did not prep the track ONCE last night....horrible.

I did a good 10 second burnout everytime in 2nd gear....left a hell of a lot of smoke. Those nittos were DAMN HOT! The best I could do was a 2.1 60' last night instead of my usual 1.8's. Anything over half throttle in 1st gear and you would spin like crazy...i almost took a trip into the other lane on my last run of the night.

Anyhow, my best run last night was a 12.63 @ 112.8 with a 2.25 60'. Spinning off the line and spinning on EVERY shift. We decided last night that the next time we go out to the track, its gonna be at either bradenton or gainesville cause speed world is just starting to get ridiculous.

The best Abe did was a 13.0 @ 111 & something mph...

Let me know if you're interested in going to bradenton or gainesville sometime in the near future...I think there will be a bunch of us going. I think my car will go 12.2 - 12.3 @ 114 on a good track.

I'll definitely go when you go. Just let me know. I'm sure you know how I feel about OSW.

must be nice having tracks open all year. Ours are closed from the last week of november all the way through mid-may.

Re: Dyno #'s from yesterday...

Well, they usually close for a couple weeks this time of year. However, living in FL, there are only a couple nights a year when we have the opportunity to run in cold weather...most nights at the track consist of 90 degree weather with 2,000% humidity. ...so I guess it all evens out.

That would mean that your car is either lighter or more of a monster than his

I bet Abe's car (and maybe yours) is one of the few that came with the LS6 block.

LS6 block doesn't make any horsepower.

Ditto, and I also bet his monster of a car doesn't have any piston slap either. It wouldn't surprise me if the factory freaks or the cars that dyno on the high end of average are the ones that don't have any piston slap, and the slappers would tend to dyno a little lower. But I"m just guessing on this.

Cool. Mine is a slapper when cold but doesn't really burn any oil. Hope to get dyno #'s on it soon.
