Driving Impression

I havent been able to find a Camaro with the LS1 close by so i cant get a test drive today, but i thought i would ask u guys to write sort of a mini-review of how u like ur car. Also does teh car have a tendcey for the rear end to slide out (ie oversteer)?
Thanks to all of u for putting up with my stupid questions.

Re: Driving Impression

If you're buying an LS1 and have never driven one before, don't try any shenanigans and be very careful because these cars can get away from you very easily.

Re: Driving Impression

Just playing those videos on my computer makes my stock rear grimace! Wish I could afford extra tires, r&p's, etc to go play like that.

BTW: I'm guessing the last scence in the last video was probably staged.

Re: Driving Impression

They only oversteer when you make them. I daily drive mine & race it and have never lost control.

Re: Driving Impression

Well i ahd a 01 mustang GT and it had 330 rwhp and w/o trying just tking a turno at 30 the rear end would slide and ultimately it slide out once and there was another car there so i dont want that to happen but the mustang also handled liek **** and i heard these cars handle much better, And i loved those vids.

Re: Driving Impression

i know its no gonna make them better and i think im prepared to have a car liek it but i still owuld liek to be able to take hard corners. And i think taht b/c of teh accident i had that i am a better or more aware driver. I am also gonna be going to skip barber hopefully soon so i will become even better and i am more responsible than when i had that car.

Has anyone driven a 2001 mustang? Which handles better? And also something that i ahd always wondered teh car had 4.10 gears in it would that make it hard to take corners causing it to slid out more than when it was stock? If so what about putting the limited slip gears taht i saw on SLP would that help?

Re: Driving Impression

Before you attend a driving school, attend a spelling school. Also, rear ends don't just slide out for no reason; I don't care if you have 75,000 hp.

Sounds like you need some sense before you need a fast car.

SS, those are all awesome videos, and perhaps the best response to a question I have seen on this board.

Re: Driving Impression

oversteer is easy to attain... but you almost have to do it intentionally...

in actuality, just trying to make it around a corner fast.. they have bad UNDERsteer.

Re: Driving Impression

Im sry for my bad typing but give me a break. And i know that a rear end wont just slide out but some cars have a tendency to do it more than others. So what happens in one car might not happen to another. But what i wanted to hear was if u would have to make it do that or if it would just do it on a fast corner (like 40 mph left hand turn). I love to take corners and i also enjoy sliding the car out when its safe to do so but i dont wanna end up taking a left to make a yellow and have the car's rear end slide out. Im a decent driver but im not gonna say im amazing and i can recover from any drift. I used to drift my mustang around a lot of corners when no one was aroudn like at night, but when i took that corner fast and having the car slide out liek it did in my mustang. I know i was taking it a little quick but i dont think it should have just slide out like that. Also remeber i didnt have stock gears in my car and havent driven a mustang with stock ones before.
