Well this is a common problem, but if it doesn't go all the way up, you definitly need a replacement

Almost 95% of 4th gens have crappy windows. Don't worry, you're not alone. You're gonna have to get it replaced.

When I owned the 97' V6, I had to get both sides replaced. My 2000 SS has a passenger window that's dying on me.

Mine just went out as well. I got a replacement unit from Checkers Auto for $80 (only one I could find w/a lifetime warranty) and will be installing it on Sunday....GM window motors suck!

Mines got to be the funniest, when I turned my car on last wednesday, the window stormed down, I think the thing was hot wired and then it just wouldn't go up again, burnt itself out, it's a peice. Now when i roll the drivers side window up it hauls and it looks like my passanger one will soon have to be replaced.

Couple weeks ago my pass. window wouldn't roll down. I thought it was the motor so I spent 2hrs. taking it apart and putting it back together after I found out it was the power win. switch, not on the pass. side but the driver's side. I'm about 6'2" and my knees have a tendency to hit the pass. switch and roll the window down on accident. Well, one day this summer drove around all day with the t-tops out and windows down and I guess my knee just sat on the switch and burnt it out. Took about 3mins. to replace the switch....boy was I pissed.

Been there. See if you still have some time on your warranty (probably extended warranty by now). Anyhow, I had GM replace my motor for natta.
