Does anyone make a head and cam kit that puts out 500+?

As the title states, im wanting to buy an LS1, but if i do i want it to be as bad as they come, i was hoping for 500+ without nitrous or any other power adder, any suggestions?

500 crank hp or 500rwhp. the former can be done quite easily with a decent h/c package and bolt ons w/ an m6. the later you'll need a g5x3 or bigger cam, S3 heads, lsx intake, full bolts and one hell of a ****in tune an you might get close. and it'll be on the very of unstreetable.

you want 500rwhp get a blower, best way to have that kind of power and somewhat streetable setup and reliability or go stroker.

A top line heads and cam kit will get you up to about 450 rwhp, which would be close to 500 flywheel horsepower, in a M6 or about 420 in an A4. Most will be about 25 hp less. Mine is built to the max and it only makes 420 with the convertor unlocked. That's enough to run 10 second quarter mile times. You can get a LS1 to 500 rwhp but it takes alot more than just heads and a cam.

Yeah, you either need some forced induction, or more cubes, or if you're like me....BOTH! But then again, i like everything in excess.

I dont think 500+ rwhp is unstreetable... I have seen many a daily driver with more than that..

A 500 rwhp stock cube ls1 is going to be a solid cam decent compression motor. Streetable? Thats a matter of opinion. I drove Tom Kemps 10.60 414 from his house to my house that is 30 miles away and i thought that it was streetable.

lgmotorsports dynoed over 480rwhp with one of their large heads/cam packages.

mods were something like:

stock ls6 bottom end
stage 2.5 heads
huge hydraulic roller
tb
lt headers
ls6 intake

problem with a cam that big is the how long the valvesprings will last.

Cool

500+ RWHP from a stock-cid LS1 will certainly be an aggressive setup! There's no doubt that it's doable, but it will cut into streetability. The term streetability is so subjective, though. What one person considers streetable another considers a drag car. We've put down 467 RWHP with our TSP 231/237 camshaft and Patriot Performance stage II LS6-style cylinder heads. We have some new camshafts in development that include a new max-effort cam that will be a step above the 231/237. The 231/237 cam is a great camshaft for making some power, but we are continually trying to push the envelope.

Let us know if you have any questions. We're here to help.
