What do whisper lids look like? I have a K&N filter in there, and under that, there is some sort of metal tube that doesn't look stock either. Any help would be greatly appriciated

 

if theres metal under the filter you prob have either fast toys ram ir or slp ram air.

 

Oh yea, and the lid won't latch together either.

 

I take it Fast Toy's ram air is more efficient than the stock ?

 

the lid wont latch? do you have the plasict tabs under the holes all the way? ya i guess ftra is supposed to be better but i dont have it.

 

Yes, I've checked the latches thoroghly. We have even bent them slightly to try to give it more "latching leverage" Is the lid supposed to touch the hood when its closed?

Maybe the K&N isn't all the way in?

I don't have any experience with a whisper lid. But have there been any problems with K&N filters fitting into whisper lids?

 

Are the latches too loose or too tight?

 

They are too loose... they wont clip in to the bottom. I have removed my filter for cleaning, and put it back in. It almost seems the filter is oversized. It also touches the hood when it is shut. ( At least i know its closed hehe )
