Diesel Sound?

Is it normal for a 104,000 mile LS1 to sound a little like a diesel as it gets older? Mine does. Not severe, but can hear it slightly. What can fix this?

No johnny, and acually, it tends to be when the engine is cold.

Sorry, "louder and faster" but only a little bit.

So when the engine reaches operating temp the noise disappears/quiets down? If so then it's perfectly normal, sounds like piston slap. LS1's have a very noisy valvetrain, so little ticks and knocks are pretty normal I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Could be some slight pre-ignition due to carbon buildup.

Get some Seafoam and do the 3 way treatment.

I have a 105K mi LS1 & it does the same thing. Sounds just a little like a diesel when cold. There's no degradation in performance & it goes away when the engine is warmed up.

Yes, I agree, it's just a little annoying. I figured with the new LT's, Y-pipe and C-Back, I shouldn't hear it anymore.
