header question

I know there is a difference between the 99 and 00, but what exactly is it? and would switching the wholes exhaust on a 99 accomidate a 2000. Just wondering because I can get a real good deal on a 2000 set up and i have a 99

thanks

Why? If I were going to swap exhaust manifolds I would be putting long tube headers on, not another factory manifold.

I think the AIR and EGR are different, but most people just block those off anyways.

The 2001+ cars didn't have EGR due to the LS6 intake manifold.

If all else fails, get some blockoff plates and block-off the EGR/AIR.

As far as emissions go the 99 and 00 are the same. You need to look at the headers and see if they have the flanges for the AIR and EGR systems. If they don't have the flanges to use them you'll have to eliminate those systems and have the codes/tests removed from the computer to keep the SES light off.

I don't know about where you live but long tubes are a big NO here due to emissions. Not allowed to relocate or remove cats.Shorty's are the best we can do here & still be legal
