daily driver 420 rwhp possible?
would it be possible to get 420 rwhp, out of a 99 a4 SS, and still be a reliable daily driver?
if it is what type of mods would you prefere to put on it. right now i got a kn fipk intake, flowmaster exhaust.

I am personally going to put a heads and cam package on my car along with a pulley swap and an LS6 intake. Those mods will hopefully put me around 420rwhp. My car is a daily driver and you shouldnt have any reliability problems with it. Also, since you have an A4 i would suggest a torque converter and gears. If you put down that much power later you will need sticky tires and a new rear end.

I also forgot to mention get a good set of long tube headers. I heard FLP and hooker make really good ones

yah i was thinkin a mild head/cam change, ls6 manifold, flp or hooker longtube headers, and a torque converter. but i just want to make sure this wont lower the reliabilty, becuase it is a daily driver.
about 6 months after i do these mods i was going to put on a moser 12 bolt rearend. or should i wait and do it all at once?

It won't be the reliability of the engine that you'll have to worry about; it will be the transmission. We have quite a few customers running around with 420+ RWHP in daily drivers. The 4L60E is on borrowed time when you're pushing that kind of power. Take it from someone that went through 6 4L60E's in a '98 T/A!
Chuck Johnson @ FLP is one of the best builders of a 4L60E in the country. His level IV build has been proven on 10-second passes in various cars. I'd recommend giving him a call at (630) 820-9294. Last time I heard, pricing on them was right around $2,200 for a level IV. Trannies aren't cheap, but the FLP level IV will be the best chance you have of keeping one together.

naturally-aspirated with bolt-ons, a cam, and a fat converter!
