If you're blowing fuses there's a short somewhere. I have the QTEC and wired it to the radio fuse (no TCS) for power and the black wire on the cig lighter for ground. I helped a friend install the McCord the same way without any problems. If it's wired correctly the short may be in the switch/led/motor or your ground is incorrect.

doesnt neccessarily have to be a short it could be an overload

I assumed you were using an OHM meter to test for ground. I have a "screwdriver" type tester for power, one end goes to ground, the other end "lights" when connected to power. If you go power to power you'll blow a fuse. Might want to check the ground again. If it's a good ground give McCord a call. Hang in there, the electric cut out is a great mod - I love mine.

Make sure you didn't pinch any wires. Did you try the cutout before you installed it?

I ran the switch into my ash tray, tapped the cig lighter for power and grounded it to the frame. I have the MCCP2 and am very pleased with it.

If you are testing a ground wire and something is lighting up that is bad. Unless like 2001NBMZ28 said you are using a Ohm meter or something, but even then it should read 0. Ground it to the ground on the cig lighter, that is how I did mine and it worked fine.

I tapped my McCord into the TCS switch and had no problems.

Shoot me an e-mail -- WS6@BlackWS6.com and I'll tell you which wires I tapped into (and send a digital pic)
