Cranking noise

Whenever I am stopped, or going at low speeds(max. 10mph), when I turn the steering wheel, it will make some sort of a cranking noise. What do you think is causing this noise? It is very loud and annoying to deal with

Thanks

Its definitely your rack&pinion. Not to bad of a repair to do. There are 2 kinds of replacement racks.Which one you need depends on if your car has FIRM ride or not. There are codes to tell, not sure what they are.But the parts guy will tell you what code to look for to determine firm or not.
Mine was the firm ride rack,it is cheaper

turn the steering wheel, or stop, feel pop

Whenever I am stopped, or going at low speeds(max. 5 to ? mph), when I turn the steering wheel, it will make some sort of a pop noise. What do you think is causing this noise?
