couple questions
o.k., i can search so I wont go through the whole 20 questions. But the few that I do have are cam related.
in the next week I am going to be ordering: LT's, lid, sfc's, clutch, pulleys, and a cam.
I have pretty much decided on a milder cam( thinking in the 224/224 range) since it is going on stock heads(for now). the car is daily driven but I dont want it to be real tame.
my questions are:
1. do I need 1.8 roller rockers?
2. do i need new springs?
3. what lifters to use?
4. what size/ type push rods?
I found the cam from comp cams, but if yall could suggest another that would be cool too.
any help would be appreciated

Re: couple questions
If you're going to be freeing up the exhaust, check into the 228/224 or 230/224 grinds. They work really well with little to no backpressure. You will need springs and hardened pushrods are suggested. Stock rockers should be fine as well as lifters (assuming there's not too many miles on them).

I thought when you changed a cam you were automatically supposed to replace the lifters???? i dunno

Re: couple questions
Stock lifters will be fine. You can go with the Comp lifters if you want...but, it's up to you. That cam duration is considered fairly mild when going with a .57x~.58x lift. People run mid to high 230's with ~.600 lift on stock heads....so you wouldn't have any problems with clearance.

Re: couple questions
if the lifters are still functioning fine you should be ok.
not to mention...on the LS1...you have to pull the heads to change the lifters...which makes it much bigger of a project

Re: couple questions
Well blow me silly and stroke me hard if i never saw a question like this before,
jus joking, make sure you get a heavy duty oil pump and double roller timming chain, and i think that a lot of people understimate the 224/224cam i think it is a great strretable/strip cam makes great power, when adding heads that cam easily walks over 400hp.
