Could these problems be related?

I would like to clarify that I have noticed both of these problems after seafoaming my car. I'm curious if this abuse was the last thing I needed to turn it over.

This Problem...

and a new one...

Also at start up, I'm hearing a very light ticking noise. It's very rapid, it sounds like a lifter or a pushrod but I'm praying its not. Another thing is, the car doesn't sound as hearty when it downshifts from 4th to 3rd. The exhaust tone sounds nulled out, as if it were passing through thick liquid. I'll be honest. I've been hard on this car some days, and easy on it on others. 8 times out of 10, I'm easy on it, I have no need to go fast, I just like the idea that I can if I desire to . I have often punched the gas right after Cold Starts but more so because I didn't have a choice; I live right off a 55 MPH Highway and you don't get a chance to turn or cross the street because traffic is relentless. It is an 01 and I believe I've heard that some of the internals on 01 + LS1's are stronger / can take more abuse than others. I'm not clear on that though...

So can these two be related?
