Coolant Bypass Q

My buddy and I installed a new set of stage 1 LS6 heads and the MS4 cam.

THere are coolant bypass ports on the back of the heads. How do we block these off? It also seems that either head can be mounted on either side. -Am I crazy on that last one?

They are the same as the heads you took off. Unless your also putting a LS6 intake on, just use your old parts.
And both heads are the same and interchangeable.

Still, I assume you are talking about the steam relief ports on the top/back? The parts from the old heads should be replaced there no?

^ yeah. The bypass for the front is in it's usual spot, no prob there... I was just wondering what to do w/ the back. I'll check the old heads after work... I didn't even think to check there..

one last stupid question... It seems like you can almost mount either head on either side... is this true? I don't think we paid too much attention.. We just threw the heads on. They bolted up fine. We got em tq'd down last night. should be running by sunday..

Al already answered that question for you ... YES, they're identical!!! (which has pretty much been the case forever with most heads)

Yep when posting a question it's always very helpful to read the responses.
